How to see a TikTok profile picture in full size

Why the app will not show it bigger

In the TikTok app, a profile picture is a small circle at the top of the profile, and tapping it usually just offers to view a story or zoom slightly. The app never shows the stored original, and the circle crop hides the corners of the image.

How to open the full-size original

1. Open the TikTok PFP viewer.
2. Enter the username (or paste the profile link).
3. The picture opens at the largest size TikTok stores, square and uncropped, with download buttons for each size.

What size is a TikTok profile picture?

TikTok keeps several versions of each avatar - a thumbnail, a medium size and a large one. The large version is commonly 720 or 1080 pixels square, depending on what the person uploaded. TikTok does not make a small upload bigger, so the full-size file is exactly as sharp as the original and no sharper.

About “4K” and “HD” profile picture tools

If a site promises a 4K TikTok profile picture, it is enlarging a smaller file. Upscaling adds pixels, not detail. The honest maximum is the largest version TikTok stores, which is what ViewTikStory links to.

Can you see someone’s old profile picture?

No. When someone changes their picture, the old file stops being published. No tool can retrieve previous profile pictures.

Using someone’s profile picture

A profile picture is often a photo of a real person. Viewing it is fine; reusing it is a different matter. Using someone’s photo as your own avatar can be impersonation, which breaks TikTok’s rules and, in many places, the law.
