Privacy policy
ViewTikStory has no accounts and no user database. We never ask for your TikTok login, do not store your search history, and do not sell data. Lookups are cached by what was looked up - a username or post - never by who looked it up.

What we do not collect
- No accounts, so no names, emails or passwords - and never your TikTok login.
- No search history tied to you.
- No IP addresses stored against the things you look up.
- No advertising profile built by us, and no data sold or brokered to anyone.
What is processed, and why
Your lookup input. The username or link you enter is used to perform the lookup and to form a cache key. The cache key is the thing you looked up - it contains nothing about you. Cached results expire after minutes to a few hours.
Resolved usernames. When a username resolves to a real account, we may record that the handle exists, so the username finder improves over time. We do not record who searched for it, when, or from where.
Downloads. When you download or play a file, it passes through our network on its way from TikTok's servers to you, so that it arrives with a sensible filename. Nothing is kept once the transfer ends.
Standard server records. Like any website, our infrastructure processes request data such as IP addresses transiently in order to serve pages and block abuse. We do not join these records to lookups or use them to profile anyone.
Third parties involved in a lookup
- TikWM (tikwm.com). To fetch stories, highlights, reposts and individual posts, our server sends the username or post link to the public TikWM API. Only the username or link is sent - nothing about you, not your IP address. TikWM's own practices are governed by its policies.
- TikTok. Profile data and media files come from TikTok's servers. Our server makes those requests, not your browser - except for preview images, which your browser may load directly from TikTok's image servers.
- Cloudflare. Our hosting and network provider processes requests on our behalf to deliver the site.
Your browser, not our server
The "Recent" searches shown under the tools are stored in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us. Clearing your browser data, or the Clear button, removes them.
Analytics and advertising
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views. We may also show advertising to cover running costs; ad networks may set their own cookies and process data under their own policies, which we do not control. Where the law requires consent for such cookies, we will ask for it before they are set.
Creators
If you are a TikTok creator and want your account excluded from our tools, see the creator opt-out.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly process their data. We operate no accounts, so we hold no such data to begin with.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal data held about you. Because we operate no accounts and store no search history, we generally hold no personal data to act on. If you believe otherwise, write to us and we will look into it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described rather than slipped in.

Frequently asked questions
Does ViewTikStory store my searches?
No. We do not keep search histories. Lookup results are cached by the username or post, never by who searched, and expire within hours.
Do I need to give my TikTok login?
Never. ViewTikStory does not ask for or use any TikTok account.
Who else sees what I look up?
The username or post link is sent to the public TikWM API to fetch the data, and media comes from TikTok's servers. Nothing about you is sent.
Where are my recent searches stored?
Only in your own browser. Use the Clear button or clear your browser data to remove them.
